My Story

Social butterfly and connector of people, brands, ideas, and dots.

I have a background in marketing with a focus in digital branding: websites, social media, e-mail, mobile, SEO. I have a passion for learning and am amazed by how technology is constantly changing our lives and how we interact with brands. As technology and consumer behavior evolves, so does my curiosity for what's possible...and in turn, my marketing career.

Since my first marketing class in college, I've had a passion for discovering the connection between a customer's wants and needs and a brand's promise. Whether in print or digital, there is an attraction, a relationship, a bond that intrigues me to figure out what the connection is and interpret that into advertising and marketing messages.

I moved to Nashville 10+ years ago from a small town in West Tennessee. I love that Nashville is a “big” small town. There’s always something to do and we have a thriving business community of passionate, talented people - it’s not just musicians & singers!

I co-founded Social Media Club Nashville (SMCNash) in 2009, a professional networking group, hosting educational programs for the Nashville business community to advocate learning and best practices in social media. Over the years, I've made a lot of friends who also have a passion for social media and thrive on learning and sharing best practices- friends I would have never met, if there were no social media sites.

I'm always amazed when we have a SMCNash event and someone comes up to me and thanks me for what I'm doing. I do it because I love networking, marketing and connecting; but to see that other people are inspired from their experience makes it all the more worthwhile.

I enjoy networking and regularly attend programs and events held by Nashville Technology Council, Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Nashville American Marketing Association, Digital Nashville, PRSA Nashville, and of course Social Media Club Nashville. In the spirit of good karma, I make a point to follow-up with people I meet at networking events to keep the connection going. I always offer to help them where I can.

Subscribe to my blog to follow along with the learnings and adventures along the way!
